Wednesday 28th June - National Rippa Rugby Qualifier Tournament, East Coast Bayes Rugby Club.

Thursday 29th June - Matariki Festival, 5.00 - 7.30pm.  Come along and enjoy your children's celebrations & entertainment.  Extra food will be available to purchase, (other than the hangi which tickets have been prepaid for). There will also be glow sticks & raffle tickets to buy.  Please bring cash as there will be no Eftpos available. Please note there is no entry fee to come to the festival.

Thursday 29th June - 2017 KIWI Competitions test for those who have already registered and paid. 

9.30 - 10.30am Maths

11.30am - 12.30pm English

1.30 - 2.30pm Science

Wednesday 5th July - BOT Meeting, 6.30pm in the Staffroom.  All welcome.

All Sports Registrations & Payments need to be in by Friday 7th July.  Please hand in your completed forms to the office and ensure you have made payment either through the School Shop or at the office.

Friday 7th July - Last day of school, 3.00pm finish.

Week of 20 June 2017

Wednesday 21st June - WIGS WEDNESDAY MUFTI DAY, wear a wig or make a crazy hair style. Please bring a gold coin donation and help us to support child cancer. Students do not need to wear uniform.

Thursday 22nd June - Year 3/4 Camp Meeting for Parents, 7.00 - 8.00pm in the Staffroom. It is very important that as many parents as possible please attend this meeting.

Friday 23rd June - TEACHER ONLY DAY - School will be closed.

Wednesday 28th June - Rippa Rugby National Qualifier. East Coast Bayes Rugby Park.

Thursday 29th June - 2017 KIWI Competition - All students who have paid will be sitting the English, Maths & Science tests on this day.

Thursday 29th June - Matariki Festival, 5.00 - 7.30pm. Hangi tickets still available for $15.00 each. This festival is instead of our end of Term assembly.  Please come along to celebrate your child's learning.

Friday 23rd June - Teacher Only Day, School Closed. Please note there is no Before or After School Care available on this day due to all staff being involved in the day.

Sunday 25th June - Last day for making your Photolife orders online.

Thursday 29th June -  Matariki Festival 5.00 - 7.30pm at GHS. Please mark this date in your calendar.  Hangi orders all sold out.

Friday 7th July - Last day of Term 2, school re-opens Monday 24th July. 

School Values Community Feedback Survey Update

Thank you to all our families who completed our survey to help us review the current school values, as part of the Positive Behaviour 4 Learning journey at our school. We have also consulted with our staff and students about the values that they feel are important and by comparing the data from both surveys we can announce that we will be introducing the following four values at our school:-

• Responsibility
• Respect
• Kindness
• Resilience

These values will remain in draft until we feel they work proactively and support the learning and teaching at GHS. The next step of our journey involves the school creating a statement of expected behaviours that show what each of the values looks like, sounds like and feels like in different settings across the school. All statements are positively worded, for example, walk quietly, listen or follow instructions. They will be observable and measurable outcomes that we will expect our students, staff and community to use at school. Week of 6 June 2017

Ladies Night Out - this Saturday 10th June. Don't miss out on a Goodie Bag with items to the value of over $550.00. (this is not a typo!!) Tickets are only $35.00 each, through the school shop or at the front office. Rugby widows, leave your husbands and kids at home and come out for a night of fun, freedom and get together with friends. Tickets include a glass of bubbles and entries to spot prizes, plus more. Wine & Dessert Bar available.  Please support our school and community.

Thursday 8th June - Coast Football Competition, Stanmore Bay Football Grounds, Brightside Road. Please ensure if your child is participating, that they bring their completed persmission form into the office by Wednesday 7th June.  Payment can be made through the school shop or at the office.

Monday 12th June - Positive Puberty Evening for Year 5 - 8 Parents, in the Staffroom.    6.00 - 7.30pm.
