16th April - Change of Venue for Lane Clark Presentation - now in the Gulf Harbour School Staffroom, 7.00pm
17th April - End of Term Assembly - Wentworth College Sports Complex, 9.30 - 11.00am.  Everyone welcome. We will be providing buses to and from assembly if it is rainning.
Poppies available at our school assembly, donation please.
18th April - Team Xtraordinaries (Rooms 23 - 26), event at Shakespear Regional Park 10.00am - 2.00pm. At school if wet.
18th April - Red Puppy bikkies for sale, $2.00 each outside the Foodtech room.
19th April - Last Food Friday for the term.
19th April - Final day of school for Term 1, 3.00pm finish.
Lost Property - please make sure you check the box outside the back of Room 1 before the end of term, for any lost uniform.
Library Books - please return all library books before Friday 19th April.

Can you help us?
The last two weekends the school has been broken into with computers stolen. Entry has been by the way of back windows. If you are in the habit of evening walks and can include the school in your walk it would be appreciated.  In the event of  anything untoward occurring please contact the Police or our security company 426 4255 – number on display within the school.

Poppy Day - we will have year 7 & 8 students selling poppies before and after school from 15th - 18th April at both entrances to the school.

11th April Red Puppy Bikkie for sale - $2.00 each, outside the Food Tech Room, 10.30am .Raising money for the Guide Dog Foundation.

11th April School Banking - join your child up to school banking in partnership with the ANZ Whangaparaoa.  A representative is here every Thursday to open new accounts and take your childs deposits, outside the Library 8.30 - 9.00am.

15th April Board of Trustees Nominations - forms will be posted on Monday. We need people to make a difference to our school. Please consider stepping forward or encourage someone you know, to stand for election. Nomination forms must be returned by noon, Thursday 16th May, 2013.

16th April Lane Clark Presents - 7.00pm Whangaparaoa Golf Club. World renown educationalist, we have had on going involvement with since the start of our school. This evening will give you such a powerful insight to the 'what and why', behind our school and our learning processes. Child minding available, please contact the office, office@ghs.school.nz

4th April Red Puppy Bikkie Day - Beautifully baked & decorated biscuits for sale by students from Room 22. $2.00 each, outside the Food Tech Room, 10.30am. Bikkies will also be for sale on 11th & 18th April. Raising money for the Guide Dog Foundation.
4th April Year 7/8 Interschool Soccer - Gulf Harbour School grounds, 10.00am - 1.30pm.
4th April Year 6 Camp Meeting for Parents - School Staffroom 7.00 - 9.00pm.  Meeting for parents of students going to Kawau Island, 13th - 17th May.

Week of 26 March 2013

Welcome to our new Weekly Porthole which you will receive via email every Tuesday morning.  It will contain information regarding activites and events happening at our school during that week.  The week runs from a Tuesday to the following Monday.  Of course with the Easter break occuring when our 2nd Porthole is due out, it will be sent on  Wednesday 3rd April.  We would love feedback on the new Porthole and hope it will help with the communication re happenings at school.

• Easter Break - Friday 29th March - Tuesday 2nd April.  School starts back on Wednesday 3rd April.
• 26th March Year 8 Girls Immunisation - only students who have returning the signed forms will be given the immunisation.
• 28th March Food Day - due to the Easter break our Food Day will be Thursday. Order forms will be sent home on Wednesday. We would appreciate please, any help with home baking, an Easter theme would be exciting for the kids. Please take to the Food Tech room.
• 28th March Entertainment Book - forms due back for early purchase of 2013 Books.
• Pay your School Donation before 31st March & receive a $50.00 credit. ($150.00 if paid by 31st)

• 4th April Year 6 Camp Evening for Parents - to discuss the Kawau Camp held for Year 6 students during May 13th - 17th.
• 16th April Lane Clark presents to Gulf Harbour Parents - Whangaparaoa Golf Club 7.00pm. A chance to hear from an educationalist explaining the 'why and what' behind what we do at Gulf Harbour School.
